Hi, my name is Fotini, and I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to reach out for help. We often have internalized messages that we should be able to handle everything on our own and may feel scared, or even ashamed to talk to someone about our most vulnerable experiences. If you are here, you have taken a courageous step towards breaking through those barriers.
My practice is person-centred, trauma and attachment informed. I believe the relationship developed between me and you is the foundation to effective therapy. My approach is collaborative and inclusive, meaning I will not be clinically removed but rather warm, empathic, and non-judgemental. I integrate a number of different treatment models including psychodynamic and emotion-focused as well as CBT and DBT, because I believe that everyone is unique and as such requires an approach and tools tailored to them. Most of all, I believe in providing a safe, open space for you to be heard, and to find the clarity you are seeking, as we unpack the issues together.
I provide therapy to help you with issues concerning depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation, relationship issues and loneliness, stress and life transitions to name a few. I also work extensively supporting teens and parents who are struggling with mood disorders, non-suicidal self-injury and/or suicidal ideation.
My qualifications include a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Child and Youth Counselling Diploma. Along with my education and training, I have 13+ years of experience working in mental health. I encourage you to reach out if you are seeking support knowing that you will find an empathic and skilled therapist in me. I am honoured and humbled to be part of your healing journey!
Starting September 2022, we are proud to offer therapy sessions starting at $100(hst) for those who need lower cost services, provided by our practicum student.
